It's an exciting time to visit Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.

Discover more than 2,000 animals and 1,000 plants encompassed by the zoo's 115 acres, including wildlife from every corner of the globe and a variety of family-friendly activities, educational resources, and attractions.

Just a few of the animal exhibits you’ll find at the Jacksonville Zoo include the River Valley Aviary, Giraffe Overlook, Land of the Tiger, and the newest exhibit, the must-see African Forest.

A magnificent 40-foot Kapok Tree dominates the African Forest, an iconic structure that serves as the heart of the exhibit where gorillas, lemurs and monkeys climb and play. Animals traverse above guests and watch curiously from a trail system that connects to the tree. The innovative design brings you closer than ever before to great apes and primates.

Fun Fact: The interior of the massive trunk of the Kapok Tree is accessible to staff via a stairway, so caretakers can study and care for the animals.
